During his illustrious career, David has played with Simply Red for two decades, as well as working with many other amazing artists and bands that include:

George Michael, Depeche Mode, U2, David Bowie, ABC, Clive Griffin, Marc Almond, Bob Marley, Pino Daniele, Paul Rutherford, the Human League, Robbie Williams, Take That, Pet Shop Boys,  Kraftwerk ( Karl Bartos).

In addition, David has worked on various solo projects and released funk, jazz, and soul albums with his music partner, Marco Perry, as Pressure Zone.

David has composed numerous music tracks for films, documentaries and television.

His debut solo album ’Magnesium’ was launched after the covid pandemic and has brand new piano and synth tracks, all created and performed by David. The final track, ‘Sherbet’ features the inimitable Simply Red sax player, Ian Kirkham. Magnesium was co-produced, Mastered and engineered by David’s great friend Jon Russell.

Together they are currently releasing a second album, ‘Dreaming of the Funk Master’, featuring ; Richard Murdoch / Kenji Suzuki / Steve Lewinson / Ian Kirkham / John Etheridge / Tom Traint / Roman Roth / Mark Buckingham / Jon Russell / Luke Andrews / Sue Lawrence.
